Bullguard Review – Is it Worth the Price?

Bullguard is a complete security suite that is all-encompassing. It’s not quite as robust as the other options however it is a solid solution for those seeking to get a more from their antivirus software. It also works well with resources, avoiding large system loads while offering several alternatives to help reduce the burden in the event of need.

The program starts with a modular hub that has an organized layout of its modules. This includes antivirus, firewalls, PC tune-up, game boosters, and home network scanners. Those looking to monitor their system for weaknesses will be delighted with the “Vulnerabilities” section that will alert them to things such as missing Windows updates autostart services, open ports. Gamers will appreciate the “Game Booster” feature beneficial, as it will detect when you’re playing, and will automatically optimize your system.

In our tests, the bullguard was pretty effective in stopping malware infections, and was relatively light on system resources compared to most competing products in terms of CPU use. However we did observe that the background processes of the antivirus ate up a significant amount of RAM, especially on machines with limited available memory. Furthermore, some elements of the hub app looked pixelated on a high-resolution display.

Bullguard comes with a mobile-specific security feature with its Premium Protection subscription that provides antitheft, parental control and basic backup capabilities for your smartphone or tablet. However, the app isn’t a lot and doesn’t come with important features like security for your webcam or file shredders. The only way to get support via phone is via live chat or email.
